Getting Here
Aktion airport in Preveza (code PVK) is the nearest airport to Levkas.
Flight prices can be checked out on comparison web sites or by looking at the search engines, but Monarch, Thomas Cook, and Thomson Fly.com all offer reasonably prices flights.
We have a Greek agent who is able to book flights and arrange transfers. Contact Jenny at Karyatis Travel on karyatistravel@hotmail.com and mention that you are booking with Scuba-Ski.
Taxis are readily available from Aktion, and last year the cost was around 45 euros to Nidri and 70 euros to Vassiliki, with a taxi taking up to 4 people. It takes about 30 minuutes drive to the town of Levkas, with a further 20 minutes to Nidri or 45 minutes to Vassiliki.
Car hire from the airport is another option, giving you the opportunity to explore during your holiday. Jenny at Karyatis Travel can arrange car hire.
Although Levkas is an island, it is connected to the mainland by a road bridge and so there is no need to get a connecting ferry. The road bridge swings around about once an hour to let yachts and fishing boats access, and so although you may need to allow for a 10 minute wait, the sight of the boats rushing through is worth it.
If you are travelling from France, Spain or Italy, you may consider driving. There are ferries from Ancona and Bari in Italy taking you to Igoumenitsa on mainland Greece, which is only a couple of hours drive to Levkas.
Superfast, Minoan, Blue Star Ferries and Anek lines are all ferry companies that operate this route and you can book independently or Jenny from Karyatis can book this for you and may be able to offer a discounted price.
